How this site is funded
Being straight about the money is cheaper than being asked about it. This page explains every way this site earns anything, and what that does and does not influence.
Display advertising
Pages carry advertising from a third-party network. Those slots are labelled Advertisement and are boxed off from the writing. We do not choose the individual ads, we are not told who buys them, and their presence has no bearing on what gets written. If an ad ever leads somewhere deceptive, that is a failure of the network and we want to hear about it — thecontact page is the fastest route.
Affiliate links
Some guides link to products — hardware wallets, exchanges, tools. Where such a link earns this site a commission, it islabelled on the link itself, not only here. You pay the same price either way; the commission comes out of the seller’s margin, not your pocket.
Three commitments that are easy to state and easy to check:
- No ranking is for sale. Nobody can pay to appear in a comparison, to appear higher in one, or to have a competitor removed.
- No paid placement, ever. There are no sponsored posts here. If that changes, it will be labelled as advertising in the headline, not tucked into a footer.
- Recommendations survive the commission. Where the better answer for a reader pays nothing — buying direct from a manufacturer, or not buying at all — that is the answer given.
What we do not do
No newsletter, no accounts, no comment section, and nothing is sold to you directly. We do not accept payment to review a project, we do not take tokens or equity from projects we write about, and we do not publish price predictions or trading signals of any kind.
Analytics
Traffic is measured with Google Analytics and the hosting provider’s own server-side counts. What that collects, and how to opt out, is set out on the privacy page.
Corrections
Guides carry the date they were last reviewed, not just the date they were written, so you can judge for yourself whether one has gone stale. Mistakes are corrected in place. If something here is wrong or out of date, tell us — that is the most useful thing a reader can do.
